Recreation Commission

The Recreation Committee’s purpose is to provide an opportunity for the various leagues to meet and communicate and/or resolve any issues occurring within the parks. The Committee meetings also provides the Nassau County Parks & Recreation Department with an opportunity to ensure that all guidelines established by the Board of County Commissioners are being met and gives the public a chance to voice any concerns or questions they may have.

The Committee is made of up ten (11) members as follows:

  • Nine (9) league presidents
  • Two (2) at-large representatives

The Recreation Committee meets quarterly. Committee members do not receive any compensation for their time and/or travel expenses and are not required to file financial disclosure.
