Fire Rescue

Our organization is comprised of 99 employees. NCFR is located in one of the 33 rural counties out of the 67 counties in the State of Florida. We serve an increasingly diverse population.

Fire Rescue 2018-2019 Accomplishments and 2019-2020 Goals

Some population statistics include:

  • County Area: 651.6 square miles
  • By the end of 2011, the estimated County’s population was 74,195 people with an average household size of 2.59 persons.
  • Nearly 5% of the residents are under five years of age and more than 17% are over 65 years of age.
  • 60% of the community is in the labor force with the median household income of more than $58,933.


    In 2012 Nassau County Fire Rescue acquired state of the art self-contained breathing apparatus and added four new LifePak 15 cardiac monitors. In 2013 Fire Rescue will be adding 3 additional LifePak 15 monitors and updating all thermal imaging cameras. Fire Rescue also received 1 new engine and 2 new rescue units in fiscal year 2011-2012 and project to add 1 new engine and 1 new rescue unit in 2012-2013.
