PRESS ADVISORY:

In May of last year, the county started participation in NACo’s Prescription Drug Discount Card Program. There has been no cost to the county.

Over that twelve (12) month time period, a little over 11,300 prescriptions were filled using the card. The average price savings has been $13.30 or 27.5% of the price. Just over 4,600 residents have used the card.

The May numbers were: 1) 1,270 prescriptions filled with the card; 2) average price savings were $13.61 and 29.3%; and 3) 480 utilizers.
