The SHIP Division coordinates the administration of the County’s affordable housing program to ensure optimal citizen participation, program efficiency, and effectiveness pursuant to federal, state, and local housing policies, procedures, and regulations.
The SHIP Program provides affordable housing assistance to very low-, low-, and moderate-income families who meet all of the requirements listed in Florida Statutes 420.907, Florida Administrative Code 67-37, and Nassau County’s Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP).
SHIP Funds for 2016/17 are currently available for the purchase of a newly constructed home for low and very low income applicants. An application may be picked up at our office between 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday, however, if you wish to speak to the SHIP Administrator you will need to call for an appointment at 904-530-6020.
SHIP Fund applications for 2017/18 will be available on December 15th, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. at the address listed above. Funding is available for the purchase of existing homes, newly constructed homes and for rehabilitation/modification. Applications will be processed "first come, first ready, first served" with a priority given to Developmentally Disable applicants. See FORMS listed below for items required to submit an application.
