The Building Department:
- Reviews and approves plans
- Issues permits for residential and commercial construction
- Performs building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and sign inspections according to the Florida Building Code
- Provides building code and unsafe structure enforcement for the above referenced codes

As the Building Official, Mr. McKinney also serves as the Flood Zone Administrator, Contractor Licensing Official, Impact Fee Administrator, Class I Zoning Administrator, and the Damage Assessment Coordinator.
