Citizen Alerts

NCEM Everbridge Banner.png

Our Citizen Alerts system is part of the AlertFlorida Statewide Notification System, a mass notification tool that enables public safety officials to rapidly warn the population about imminent or sudden hazards via phone, text message, e-mail, social media, and mobile apps.  Residents, businesses, and visitors who want to receive critical public alerts, must "Opt-In" by registering their local physical address and preferred contact methods.  Your 9-1-1 street address is required; alerts are often tailored for specific areas of the county - DO NOT use out-of-town or PO Box mailing addresses.  Visitors or part-time residents must provide a local address.  Your information will not be shared and will only be used for local alert notification purposes.  Click the button below to register for or log into your free Nassau County Citizen Alerts account.

Note that when you register for Citizen Alerts you must use check-boxes to select the types of alerts you will receive.  Alerts for a variety of weather conditions are available; for instance you can uncheck the boxes for "watches" if you only want to be notified about "warnings", and you can choose not to be warned about lightning strikes or other conditions.  You can log back into the system to make changes at any time.

If you have difficulties getting your alerts established, or if you want to test the system, please call Emergency Management at 904-548-0900.
